Mountbellew Solicitors, Gearoid Geraghty & Company are based in a lovely small town in County Galway about 30 miles from Galway city in the west and 30 miles from Athlone to the east. It is 18 miles from Ballinasloe. Its Irish name is An Creagán which means The Little Rock. However, it derives its modern name from the Bellew family, who are thought to have come here in the Anglo-Norman invasion, and, after many changes in their fortunes, finally acquired the lands of the Bellew estate. It was formerly known as Mountbellew Bridge, from the old bridge over the river Castlegar. It has attracted much new house building in recent years due to its easy commuting distance from these larger towns. A market is held in the town square every Tuesday and a beautiful recent addition to that square is the very fine equestrian statue of the racehorse Bobbyjo.
The town has a website here.
Fair & Murtagh, Solicitors acquired the practice of Joseph Fahey, Solicitor in April 2008. This evolved into Gearoid Geraghty and Company in 2014. Joe continues to work for Gearoid Geraghty & Company.
